Looking for the best places to eat in Ahangama? Well you’re pretty spoilt for choice in this bustling little town, with heaps of awesome spots opening up all the time!

So whether you’re looking for some epic local cuisine that’s super budget friendly, or treating yourself to something a bit more fancy and international - here are some of our favourites…

Crust

Pizza lovers rejoice - Crust serves up some epic options right on the seafront and is a perfect spot for a sunset bite to eat! Expect great tunes, great service, cold beers and just all round good vibes here. Their tacos are awesome too!

Elita

If you’re looking for some brekkie or lunch this is easily one of our top spots. Stunning ocean views, tasty smoothie bowls, a range of avo on toast and power bowls too - Elita ticks all the boxes for a great value and tasty bite to eat. The staff here are always super friendly and helpful with the profits going back to some amazing community projects too.

Big Mighty

Fancy a burger? This is our go to! They also do delivery too, so if you fancy a meal in with some Netlfix and tasty treats Big Mighty is never a bad shout. Mac n Cheese or the aptly named Bum Burner are two of our go to orders!

Lamana

Fancy some Spanish flavours? Well Lamana is the spot to head. Not the most budget friendly - but well worth it for taste and portions, it’s right in the centre of town and even boasts its own skate bowl!

Canteen by Soul & Surf

If you’re looking for a date night, or a spot to treat yourself to a sunset dinner, Canteen by Soul & Surf is a solid choice. One of the pricier options on the list, but is well worth it for stunning views, a superb menu and some banging cocktails too!

Surf House

As well as offering uip the best surf coaching in town, the Surf House by Ticket to Ride serves up some great meals too! Go healthy with a post surf smoothie bowl or maybe treat yourself to the “Dirty Dawg” if you fancy something a bit less so! One of our favourite spots for post surf coffee too!

Ceylon sliders

Hot off the back of their hugely successul OG location in Weligama, Ceylon Sliders now have a beach front restaurant and shop in Ahangama too. Serving up a great range of mains, nibbles and drinks with a stunning ocean view. The baby cripsy potatoes are a must try!

The Kip

With an almost tapas style menu and nestled amongst a beautiful jungle-esque garden, The Kip is the perfect spot to escape the lunch time heat and enjoy some gorgeous food. If they have their health Snickers cake in stock make sure you grab some - it’s to die for!

Sagara Restaurant

If you’re looking for some incredible and truly local cuisine then this is the spot to head. Million dollar views across Sticks surf spot, but with amazing local curries for a couple of dollars it’s well worth it. Their 4 curry veggie option is a favourite. Located just opposite Ticket To Ride Surf House.

mangrove kitchen

Another awesome local option, Mangrove Kitchen offers traditional Sri Lanka food delivered straight to your door! So if you fancy a chilled night in at the villa with some Netflix and amazing food, hit these guys up. Their veggie curry box is super tasty, and order some coconut sambol and rotis on the side too.
